Mr. Earnest "Boyzoo" Griffin's Obituary

Obituary
The smiles and loving spirit of Earnest Griffin was born into this earthly place on
January 25, 1937, in Millen, Georgia, to the late Ms. Cora Solomon
and the late Mr. Ulysses Griffin.
Although, he was raised by the late Sidney & Savannah Jones. He had to stop secular schooling at a very young age to work in the cotton
fields, he was a very intelligent person. In his early twenties in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, he went on to open his own specialty car transmission business named
"Transmission Slick"; it was even broadcast on the radio. Earnest was known as a
Master Mechanic because he could fix any car put before him. He could also repair
any electronics, such as fans, computers, etc. He had a great desire to fly airplanes,
and was certain that he could have done it, if only he had the education. He was a very
hard-working man all his life and would even cut lawns for work into his eighties.
Earnest was a long-time member and dedicated Mason. He achieved the rank of
a 32nd Degree and was highly involved in helping new members learn rites and
progress through the degrees of freemasonry. He loved spending time with his lodge
brothers and helped promote awareness of freemasonry in his town and anywhere
he traveled. Earnest was also devoted to his Church and would not miss sending his
tithes even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was proud of his fruit producing trees and would often share his fruits with others.
Earnest was a very good cook who enjoyed cooking turkey necks, butter beans, black
eye peas, low country boil recipes, okra, and other foods that melted in your mouth.
He also enjoyed eating "Kentucky Fried Chicken".
Earnest Griffin was called from labor and laid down his working tools on January 16,
2023.

He was preceded in death by: his sons, Earnest Hardaway and Bobby Hardaway of
Chicago, IL; and grandson, Lonza Griffin, Jr., of Augusta, GA, and a sister, Mrs. Annie LaCue,
He leaves to treasure precious memories: his children, Kenneth (Sherlisa) Pinkney
