Mr. George B. Oliver Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. George B. Oliver, Sr. entered eternal rest on June 6, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Jenkins County on January 22, 1949, to the late Rev. Willie V. Oliver, Sr. and the late Ms. Mamie Joe Lambert. George was a 1969 graduate of Burgess Landrum High School. He was Vietnam Veteran and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army on July 1st, 1975. At an early age he joined First McCoy Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, Willie J. and Odell Oliver, sisters, Essie Murphy, Virginia Reese and Vera Thornton. His survivors include his wife, Vivian G. Oliver; five sons, George B. (Jamese) Oliver, Jr., Millen, GA Jermaine A. (Whitney) Oliver, Grovetown, GA, Onswa Brown, Atlanta, GA, Ricky Wright, and Tremaine Williams; four sisters, Ada B. Williams, Millen, GA, Agnes Miller, Rosa Manson & Bernice Griffey all of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Walter Oliver, Edward Earl Sessions, Millen, GA and Rev. William B. Blount, and a special niece, Sharon Williams, Millen; eight grandchildren, Jh’Qare, George III, Jonathan, Jayden, Peyton, Ragen, Noah & Kandence Brown. A special Aunt, Easter D. Archie, Augusta, GA; his brothers-in-law, Leroy Roberts, Atlanta, GA, Eddie L. (Pam) Hart, Martinez, GA Sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn E. Scott, Hephzibah, GA, Letha (Thomas) Chance, Statesboro, GA, and Martha Sapp, Florida; a devoted friend, Richard (Laretha) Sherrod, Hephzibah, GA; godson, Jackie Young, and a host of other living nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Visitation today, Friday June 17, 2022 at Mortuary from 1-6 p.m.
