September 15, 1949 - January 20, 2021
Once again a saint goes home, the late Deacon was born on September 15, 1949 to the late Evangelist Amanda Coley and Superintendent Rufus James Williams. Rufus attended school in Jenkins, Millen, GA, and later moved to Pompano Beach, FL and continued his education. He was a plaster worker for many years. He also grew vegetables, purchased different kinds of vegetables as well as watermelons to sale for profit. He also worked at the peanut plantation for five or more years in Statesboro, GA. Rufus gave his life to Christ twelve years ago and became a member of Williams Grove C.O.G.I.C. While at Williams Grove Rufus was ordained a deacon and was a member of the Deacon Board. He will be reunited in Heaven with those gone on before him, his parents, Bernie Lee Marrow, Rosa Bell Weems, Vibbins Williams, George Williams, Belinda Wright, and Jeanette Williams He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his wife, Linda F. Williams, Millen, GA; his children, Rufus Williams, Donald Williams, Amanda (Carlo) Johnson, Nicole Newton, Teliskia, Precious Toshima, Marquis, Jerod, Quartez and Kentre Lester; his siblings, James E. (Curtisean) Williams, Mamie L. Bullard, Annie Jean Williams, Elouise (Emmanuel) Richards, Eloise Neeley, Charles A. Williams, Ollie E. Parrish, Elouise (Emanuel) Richardson, Gwendolyn F. (Emanuel) Watson, Cynthia D. (Jimmy) Jones, and Sidney R. Williams; twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two uncles, Brantley (Alberta) Williams and Frank (Mary Ann) Williams; two aunts, Corine Cogdell and Jannie Douse; and a host of nieces, nephews and other devoted family and friends. Deacon Rufus L. Williams will remain in our hearts for always and will truly be missed.
