Mr. Alexander Scott, affectionately known as "Alex," was born in Millen, Ga on January 8, 1981,
to Annie Mae Scott and Joseph Lasseter. He lived, and was raised from his youth by his late
great-grandmother Rosie Mae Young.
Alex received his formal education through the Jenkins County school system. He was a
member of the Jenkins County High School marching band where he played the drums. He
received his high school diploma May 26, 2000. Later he pursued his mortuary studies at
Ogeechee Technical College and also at Gupton- Jones College of Funeral Service. He also
achieved his CDL from Celadon Trucking School.
As a young teenager, Alex worked for himself doing lawn services and washing cars. He
mastered the Science of Mortuary under the direction of apprentice with James A. Kirkland.
In addition, he later started his own trucking business. A&L Sons Trucking where he was the owner operator.
He was a member of True Born Church of Christ. He confessed Christ at a young age and was
later baptized. Alex was musically inclined, and he played the guitar for several churches
including his home church and Skull Creek.
Alex married Lanea (Garrett) Scott in April 2017. Through their union, Ezekiel Scott was born.
Alex enjoyed spending time with his family wholeheartedly. He enjoyed card games, grilling, and
fishing. He had an infectious laugh. He also would joke which will be missed by all who knew
him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Annie Mae (Benjamin) Sutton; father, Joseph
(Debbie) Lasseter; his beloved wife, Lanea Scott; children, Alexiana, Kwontavion, Adrian,
Alexander Jr., and Ezekiel Scott; stepchildren Kailey Haynesworth and Kassidy Garrett;
siblings, Verlon Bynes Jr., Marie (Seabron) Johnson, Kimberly Bynes, Christina (Marcus)
Whitehead-Brown, and Bre-Yanna Lasseter; a special aunt, Beatrice Jones; a special uncle,
James (Mary) Young; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and
friends.
