Amanda Louise "Sugar Ma" Campbell, 69, was born to the late Ernest & Elnora Wright on June 21, 1952. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL following an extensive illness.
Amanda was educated at ECI, where she graduated in the Class of 1970. Throughout the years, she developed a strong work ethic. In the 70's to early 80's Amanda enjoyed working with her hands working at Twin City Manufacturing, Swainsboro Sportwear as a seamstress. She later was employed at Jockey International & Thompson Sewing Company and also worked as a seamstress from 1990 to 1995.
She worked at the Bethany Home of Millen as a head dietitian. One thing for certain, she loved cooking and she loved people, so she decided to branch out and become an entrepreneur and open up her own in-home personal care home for adults with special needs. It gave her a chance to open her home as well as her heart.
On April 24th, 1982, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Deacon Roderick Lewis Campbell, Sr., and to this union, three children were raised and loved. Monica N. Wright, Roderick L. (Shae) Campbell, Jr., both of Jacksonville, FL and Raven A. Campbell, Millen, GA; four adoring grandchildren, Jaylen A. Herrington, Greensboro, NC, Jahkari Golff and Nevaeh J. Campbell both Millen, GA, Brennan M. Campbell, Jacksonville, FL.
She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Terry Wright, Millen, GA, Linda (Lucky) Stone, Twin City, GA and Sheila Pierce, Midville, GA; one adoring nieces, Vanessa Baker, Maryland and one nephew, JaMichael Pierce, Midville, GA; two aunts, Hazel Anthony, Miami, FL and Hilda (J.C.) Groover, Garfield, GA; and one brother-in-law, Sam T. Campbell, Syracuse, NY and a special friend, Catherine Doyle and a host of god-children and other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday 1-6 p.m. at James A. Kirkland Mortuary
