Obituary

"For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's." Romans 14:8

Mrs. Annette Marrie Parrish Carr was born on October 7, 1960, in Metter, Georgia, to the late Cicero Parrish and Mary Alice Parrish. She attended the public schools of Candler County.

At an early age Mrs. Annette joined Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Metter, Georgia. After marriage, Annette joined Fountain Spring Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Living Word Ministry in Millen, GA, where she remained faithful until her health declined. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at her residence under the care of Pruitt Hospice of Millen, GA, surrounded by her loving family.

Affectionately known as "Net" by family and friends, Annette had a remarkable ability to connect with people through her warm smile, infectious laughter, and kind spirit. Though she was not one to use many words, she had a unique way of bringing joy to those around her—often with just a simple phrase like "mmh mmh" or "nope." Her sweet spirit and sense of humor will be dearly missed.

In her leisure time, Annette enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, fishing, and attending social gatherings with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Annie Pearl Parrish, Evon Parrish, Authur Lee Parrish, Ida Mae Tapley, and Windy Mae Parrish; her sisters-in-love Florrie Newton, Brunell Williams, Mert Clause, and Mary Carr; and her brother-in-love Juston Carr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Sammy Carr of Millen, GA. Through their union, she gained and deeply loved a daughter, Shelia Burke (Rick) of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her sisters, Brenda Parrish (David) and Lucy Davis both of Metter, GA; her sister-in-love, Susie Simpkin (Willie) of Millen, GA; her brothers-in-love, Ernest Carr, Eddie Carr Jr. of Millen, GA, and John Tapley Sr. of Metter, GA; One Aunt Fannie Donaldson of Metter, GA; along with a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Although Net was loved by many, she will be especially missed by her devoted nephew, Leon Carr Jr. of Millen, GA, and her devoted niece, Lottie (Charles) Walker of Millen, GA.

A Special Message from the Family

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Mrs. Annette, but we find peace in knowing that she is now at rest. Her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever. She taught us the importance of kindness, the joy of simple moments, and the power of a smile. While we grieve her absence, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the memories she left behind. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone for your love, prayers, and support during this time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort, and we are forever grateful.

With love,
The Carr & Parrish Family
