Ms. Arlener Golphin, known by many as "Mama Lene," was born to the late Mr. Hamp and Mrs. Madella Golphin on April 6, 1953, in Millen, GA; she received her angel wings on July 15, 2024.
She had a gifted voice that led many songs throughout the surrounding area and even abroad. Her signature song was "Oh Wee, another Blessing," lifted the hearts of all who heard her sing, no one will take her place; she will be missed by so many.
She was baptized at an early age and served faithfully until her health declined. Although she could no longer serve in the church, she never stopped serving God.
She received an education from Burgess Landing high school and received her GED later in life.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Wilbert Bush; four brothers, Robert Golphin of Midville, Georgia, Leroy (Ruby) Goffer of St. Petersburg, Florida, Robert (Sarah) Johnson of Millen, Georgia and James (Jennifer) Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; four sisters, Carrie (Willie) Collins of New York, New York; Bernice (Harrison) Morris, Susie Wimberly and Doretha Golphin of Millen, Georgia; twenty-one grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece that she raised, Robert (Sylvia) Evans and Willie Albert (Dee Dee) Evans; Teresa (William) Colbert, and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26th at James A. Kirkland Mortuary from 1-5 p.m.
