Rev. Benjamin Franklin Young, Jr. was born April 20, 1941 to the late Benjamin Franklin Young, Sr. who was formerly of Sylvania, GA and the late Janie L. Moore of Keysville, GA. He departed this life on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Twin-View Health & Rehab Center in Twin City, GA. Some years ago he had made his home in Aiken, S.C. but was reunited at home in Millen, GA.
He was educated in Jenkins County Public School System and graduated from Burgess Landrum School. He attended various Business Colleges, including Kerr Business School in Augusta, GA; also Religious Seminaries. He also was a licensed Funeral Director and helped others to learn the trade and becoming a professional. He was a justice of the peace; he taught others G.E.D. classes to help them get their G.E.D.; he had his own radio program and operated a funeral home at one point in his life. He was instrumental in helping elderly people with gaining monetary benefits; he sold insurance. He was ordained a Christian Minister at an early age. Ben traveled the U.S. and many foreign lands. He had a loving and giving heart. All he wanted to do was to tell someone, He was a member of the Lane Grove Baptist Church as he ministered to other churches.
Ben was married to the late Mrs. Brenda Mincey.
He is now survived by his daughter, Suzane Frazier, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, George D. Young and Henry J. (Tina) Young; three sisters, Gladys Young, Mattie Y. (Lester) Foreman, and Ethelene Young. Many nieces and nephews including Daphne Young and Kenneth Young and James Marlo Young, a close cousin, Samuel Moore and many other cousins, and dear friends, including Michael McClain. Ben will be missed with his loving generosity to all.
There will be a Wake on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5-6 p.m.
