Mrs. Clifford T. Howard made her transsition from this life to everlasting life in the presence of God, our Lord and Savior on July 10, 2021 at her home in Millen, GA. She started her education at Jenkins County Training School in Millen, GA. She recieved her B.S. degree in education from Savannah State College in Savannah, GA. While at Savannah State College, she pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She earned her Master's Degree in counseling from Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, GA.
Mrs. Howard served as a teacher and counselor in the schools of Jenkins County for over forty-two years, devoting her life's service to the youth of Jenkins County and their families. As a teacher and counselor, her dedication extended beyond the normal the normal school hours. She provided leadership and was actively involved in the extra-curricular endeavors of the students. Mrs. Howard retired from the Jenkins County School System more than a decade age.
She was a strong, intelligent, and wise Christian woman. She was a devoted member and mother of Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Howard was introduced to our Lord and Savior at an early age at Zion Baptist Church in Millen, GA, where she served on many committees and as chairman of the program for over 30 years. She lived her life serving the community, church, and God faithfully.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy & Bessie Thorne, her husband, Mr. George Howard and son, Mr. Robert Lee Mountain and several siblings.
She leaves to cherish memories: her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and four generations of nieces and nephews.
