On Monday, January 18th God called our beloved "Cindy" to be absent with us and present with the Lord. Cynthia Laverne Washington-McKenzie was born on November 12, 1962 in Waynesboro, GA to the late Daisy Mae Walker and Rodney "Noon" Dukes. Cynthia attended Olinda Elementary in her early years education where she excelled highly and later attended Charles R. Drew Middle School, finally graduating from Miami Northwestern High School. She later pursued a career in dietary aide at Jackson Memorial Hospital because she loved helping and caring for people.
In 2018 Cynthia relocated from Miami, FL back to Waynesboro to help care for her mother. Her passion and her first love has been and will always be her family.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents Daisy Mae Walker Dukes and Rodney Dukes, her husband King McKenzie and her sisters, Carrie Diane Walker, Patricia Smith and her brother Rodney Dukes, Jr., and her biological father, Willie Lee Washington.
On the morning of January 18, 2021 Cynthia answered the call of heaven and went home to be with the Lord.
