Ida Mae Sea Carter was born on March 15, 1966 to the late Amos Shumake and late Corine Sweat.

Ida Mae Carter was known for Jenkins County High School best cheerleader, great personality, and her kindhearted soul. She enjoyed a good time at all time.

Ida Mae transitioned peacefully on November 15, 2020 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Carter in November of 2018 and her mother, Corine Sweat in September of 2017; three siblings, Dorothy Sea, John Sea, and Jerry Sea.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Shavawn Sea and Gabrielle (John) Graham; siblings, Mary Murray & George Sea; five grandchildren, Nautica Pierce, Tahdriana Pierce, Talyah Graham, Jai'Quan Graham and Jal'Mari Graham; and a host nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, close friends and very special family friends.
