Jeannette “Jean” Jordan entered the heavenly kingdom on February 28, 2026
Jean was born on March 26, 1947, in Millen Georgia to the late Thomas and Bertha Kelsey. Jean lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Always guided by her deep faith and generous spirit, she never met a stranger.
Jean moved to New York in 1965 and began a life defined by hard work and compassion. She graduated from Queens College and began a successful career in the world of finance. After retiring she began her second career as a 911 dispatcher for the NYC police department. Her years with the department reflected her steadfast dedication to helping others.
Throughout the years she lived in Brooklyn NY., she was fondly known as "The Neighborhood Mom." She was always engaged in enlightening conversations and telling great jokes. She was also fondly known as the center of attention at gatherings. Her bright smile and laughter’s were contagious. .. Jean leaves a legacy of strength, family, love, and devotion. Her beloved husband for over 50 years, John E. Jordan, her loving daughter, Donna Tebought, two loving sons: Larry Jordan, & John Jordan Jr., a protective loving brother, Thomas (Denise) Kelsey Jr., two loving sisters: Bernese K. James, & Marian K. Pennington, an aunt, Georgia Mae Knight, an uncle, Melvin (Brenda) Knight, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, & a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jean, shall forever be remembered for her generous heart, & undying love for others
