John Henry Stephens, age 71, a United States veteran and resident of Millen, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2020 at Pruitt Health in Augusta, Georgia.
Although John grew up in the city of Millen, he spent the majority of his adult life in the city of Newark, NJ where he was a bus and truck driver.
John enjoyed interacting with his family, walking for exercise, visiting friends, and participating in senior activities at the Senior Center of Millen.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Henry Burke, his mother, Evelyn S. McNeely and his sister, Mary Walker.

John was married to Nolie Diane Land Stephens of Newark, NJ. To this union three children were born -- son Rodney Andre Stephens and twins Aisha and Maurice Stephens of Maplewood, NJ. John was also blessed with a daughter, Johnesia Stephens of Pennsylvania.

John is survived by three sisters, Sally Thompson and Sandra Wadley of Millen and Dr. Diane McNeely of Pulaski, Georgia and a brother, John E. McNeely of Irvington, NJ, a loving, dedicated niece, Clintondra Wadley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
