On August 31,1961, Julius Jordan Jenkins aka Larry was born to the parents of Joseph & Elnora Jenkins in Millen, GA.
Larry was the youngest boy of the seven children.
Larry graduated from Jenkins County School and a member of Class of 1978.
On March 21, 1981, he married Lillie Bell Houston-Jenkins. Larry was a well-known positive figure in his community; he served the community as a master mechanic and business owner for over thirty years. He helped everyone that he could from feeding them to giving them knowledge about anything he knew. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling to different places, most of all, if you knew him, he wanted to have a good time.
On October 18, 2022, Julius "Larry" was called to his eternal home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jenkins, a brother, Joseph Jenkins, Jr., sister, Bertha Frison, brothers-in-law, James Paul Frison and Charles Houston.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Lillie Bell Jenkins; children, Jennifer Gibson, Calvin Ellison, Waynesboro, GA, Larry Jenkins, Jr., Waynesboro, GA, LaTwan (Jeffery) Jenkins of Jacksonville, FL, Joni Mitchell, his siblings, Calvin (Debra) Jenkins, Millen, GA, Reatha (Roy) Prescott, Greensboro, NC, Eleanor (Doug) Emberton, Fort Hood, TX and Vrtreena Jenkins (Jason Evans), Greensboro, NC; Julius also shared a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Falasha, who adored him and as he took her under his wing as his own daughter; and Ms. Debra Gordon, a cousin who helped them and became a very close family member over the years, along with many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
