On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, Leroy entered eternal rest at University Hospital in Augusta, GA.
Leroy was born to the union of Otis C. Sampson and Merdis Raymond Sampson on December 23, 1956.
Leroy attended Aaron School in Jenkins county and later Jenkins County High School in Mille, GA.
At an early age, Leroy accepted Christ at Gay's Hill Baptist Church in Millen, GA; later in life he recommitted his life to Christ by joining Gordon Grove Baptist Church. He served as a faithful usher until his health declined. Leroy was so prod of his position as an usher and often bragged about his usher award.
Leroy was a hard-working person who provided for his family. He was dedicated friends that was the life of any party. He always extended an arm of friendship to the people he met. He really loved all his grand kids.
Lefroy leaves to mourn his wife, Doris Williams Sampson of Millen, GA; his five children, Lee Roy Sampson of Rex, GA, Loraine Sampson of Stockbridge, GA, Phillip Sampson (Cassandra) of Millen, GA, Lewis Williams, (Lakeshia) of Statesboro, and Michell Sampson of Millen, GA; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Traebiyan Sampson, Lanae Graham, Nathen Sampson, Cameron Sampson, Jaysean Barnes, Ari'ona Sampson, Madison Kelly, Ty'Breona Graham and Destiny Gaines.
His siblings, Leon Sampson of Virginia and Jayle (Linda) Sampson of Statesboro, GA, Deloris (Rueben) Groover of Millen, GA, Tyrone Jackson, Roderick Jackson, Reginald Jackson, Natasha Jackson, Alicia Washington (Harold), Tiffany Jackson, and Tramaine Jackson all of Millen, GA; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Lee; and a special friend, Ms. Shawree Hagins, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and loving friends.
Visitation: Saturday, March 27, 2021 at James A. Kirkland Mortuary from 12-6:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. at James A. Kirkland Mortuary.
