Mrs. Mary Jane Scott, "Honey Howard", was born on July 7, 1930, to the late John and Estelle "Serena" Williams Howard in Rocky Ford, Georgia. Her brother Charlie named her Honey Howard to keep her from calling him Honey. Honey attended school in the Rocky Ford Community and completed the eighth grade.
As a grownup, Honey lived in different places…Plant City, Florida, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and eventually Millen, Georgia. She met and married James Franklin Wright, Sr. (deceased). To this union were born Mary Lou Wright Grant (deceased), Geneva Wright Bullard (deceased), James Franklin Wright, Jr. (Raynell) of Winter Haven, Florida, Eddie Howard Wright, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Richardean Wright Norwood (deceased), and Elouise Jane Wright (deceased). She later partnered with Leroy Smith, Sr., and to this partnership were born Sylvia Smith Jones (deceased), and Bobbie Jean Wright McGee (Johnny) of Millen, Georgia. She eventually married Tommy Scott, Sr. (deceased). To this union were born Annette Scott Williams of Millen, Georgia, and Judy Scott McKenzie Smith (Leroy) of Cocoa, Florida. Through this union she was also gifted with additional children, namely, Mary Scott Cheatem, Eugene Sapp, Annie Ruth Hall, Nottle Mae Scott, Rosa Lee Scott Brady, Tommy Scott, Jr., Judson Scott, Sr., Anna Bell Scott Coney, Bernice Wadley Reese, and Dianne Scott Roberson.
