Mrs. Katie Mae Summers

Celebration of Life Katie Mae Lee-Summers, gently cradled into internal rest on September 15,2026 at PruittHealth-Bethany Home after an extended illness. She was born on March 11,1940, to the late Ruthie Mae Mobley and JaPan Lee. A woman of faith, she was member of Gays Hills Baptist Church at a young age, later becoming a devoted member of First Baptist Church. Her commitment to her faith & community remained steady until her health no longer permitted her to attend services. Katie found great joy in the company of loved ones, where laughter and love filled the air. She cherished every moment together singing, dancing, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Katie dedicated 30 years of her life working as an Instructional Aid at JenCo. where her commitment to nurturing young minds was evident in every interaction. She was revered by colleagues and students alike for her unwavering dedication and gentle guidance. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Moses Summers, her cherished daughter; Felicia Summers, her son; Leon Lee, a grandson; Christoper Hudson, her brothers; Rufus Lee, Fred Lee, Raleigh Lee, J.P. Facyson, and her sisters; Ella Mae Burton and Rosetta Lee. Her spirit continues to shines through her surviving children; Darius (Sandra) Summers, Richard (Linda) Summers, Rosemary Byrd-Summers, Gary Summers, and Karen Summers. Her legacy of love is further carried on by her 17 grandchildren, 16 great grand children, 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish her memories.
