Myrea Rodney Williams' Obituary

Myrea "Rodney" Williams, known to most as Rodney.
Rodney was born on July 3, 1957 to his parents Mr.
Myrea Williams and Ms. Mattie Pearl Williams, who
preceded him in death. Rodney was a 1976 graduate of
Jenkins County High School. As a young man he gave
his life over to the lord and became a member of Skull
Creek #1, Baptist Church. He later became a well
respected deacon and trustee.
Rodney begin his employment journey as a
manufacture worker at King Finishing Mill. He also was
an over the road truck driver, an employee at SRS plant
and recently he became a bus driver with the Jenkins
County Board of education. Rodney was a service
member of the Georgia National Guard Unit, in
Waynesboro, Georgia. He retired with 24 years of
meritorious service.
Rodney was known for his love of travel, dedication to
serving God and loving his family. He was a lover of the
outdoors and could be seen riding his bike, walking the
trail, maintaining his lawn on his trusty lawnmower, on
any given day.
Rodney found and married his life long partner Shelia
Lovett . They were wedded on July 6, 1982 and were
married 43 years. Out of their union came four beautiful
children, Jeremy Holiday, (Florida), ValTramise Williams,
(Loving Memory), Martina Williams and Myra Williams,
(Hephzibah, Georgia). He was a devoted Grandfather to
his grandchildren, Tykese Oliver, J. Mariah Holiday,
Marquette Williams, Kaisha Williams, and Theron
Martin, Jr.
Rodney was supported throughout his life by his
siblings, Alvin Jones (Loving Memory), Sally Joe Jones
(Loving Memory) Valarie Patterson (Loving Memory),
Ella Glover (Parrish, Florida), Mary Mitchell (Millen,
Georgia), Wilfred Williams (Waynesboro, Georgia),
Beola Williams, Aderson Williams, and Ricky Williams
(Diane) of Millen, Georgia. He was thought of as a son
by his mother in-law, Carrie Lovett and Robert Williams
and was the perfect brother-in law to Jeffery Lovett,
Stephanie Lovett, and Sonja Williams. He was loved
and cherished by his nieces and nephews to include his
great nieces and nephews.
