Robert Lee Herrington, affectionately known as "Red Dog;" was born to the parentage of the late C..J. and Sarah Lee Brinson Herrington, on March 24, 1951, in Jenkins County. He went from labor to reward on January 5, 2022 at his residence.
He was reared in the Perkins and Millen, GA area. He was a 1970 graduate of Burgess Landrum High School. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Robert retired from W.R. Construction after many years of employment.
He had a love for drawing and all sports, and he enjoyed watching sports on television. He also had a passion for vintage cars as well as sports cars. Robert had a love for family; his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, C..J. Herrington and two sisters, Bobbie Jean and Lucille Herrington.
He leaves to cherish fond memories to his loving and devoted wife of thirty-four years, Ruth Sherrod Herrington; three daughters, Jessica (Randy) Goodman, Rhonda H. Anfield, and Annette (Glenn) Tobie, all of Millen, GA; two sons, Robert Lamar Herrington of Millen, GA and Thaddeus J. (Samantha) Chishom of Osh Kosh, WI; his loving mother,

Waynesboro, GA, Patricia Herrington, Willie Mae (Evang. David) Walker, Joyce Martin, all of Millen, GA, Linda H Key, Augusta, GA, and Bernice Herrington, Riverdale, GA; three sisters-in-law, Mildred (Jerry) Lake, Katrina Sherrod, Millen, GA, Mary Julia Plair, Allen, TX; three brothers-in-law, Al Sherrod & Timothy Sherrod, Augusta, GA and James Sherrod, Waynesboro, GA; five aunts, three uncles, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
