Rosa L Johnson was born on December 8, 1947 in Millen Georgia, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Willie Mae Reynolds. She was the 7th child of this union.
Rosa joined Kelsey Chapel Baptist church at an early age.

She departed this life on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Augusta University Hospital in Augusta Georgia.

Rosa graduated from Burgess Landrum in 1965 and went on to Savannah State College and graduated in 1968. She continued her educational studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with her MSW (Master of Social Work) from Rutgers University, New Jersey.

She married Lewis Johnson Jr. and to this union, one daughter was born, Deborah L Johnson.

Rosa worked at Harlem Hospital, New York, NY and later worked at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She retired in November 2015.

She leaves to mourn, her daughter Deborah L Johnson of Newark, NJ; one grandson, Malachi A Johnson-Green, and one granddaughter Maky'Ia I J Johnson-Roberts both of Newark, NJ; two sisters Lenora Reynolds of Newark, NJ and Barbara Reynolds of Atlantic City, NJ; four sisters Velma Reynolds, Willie Mae Reynolds, Judy Reynolds, and Vivian Reynolds, all of Georgia; one brother Robert Reynolds and sister-in-law Loretta Harris-Reynolds also of Georgia; and one brother George L. Reynolds of Washington, DC. Rosa was preceded in death by three sisters Ardelia Knight, Nieva Jean Warren, and Gussie Williams, and three brothers Willie Joe Reynolds, Ulysses Reynolds, and Lloyd Reynolds Jr.: a special friend, Standford Campbell as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
