Mrs. Sally Mae Thompson, 84 peacefully transition from this life on July 12th 2025, at the East Georgia Regional Nedical Center, Statesboro, Georgia.
She was a Jenkins canny native and the daughter of the late Evelyn McNeely. At an early age, Sally joined Sandhill Baptist church and was a devoted member. She was married to the late John Thompson, Jr. and to this Union. 7 children were born. Sally was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. To the community of Milen, Georgia. She welcomed and opened her home to many in need of a place to sleep and a meal to eat.
Sally was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Patty Ann Thompson; her son, Eric Lamar Thompson, and Arnold ladarryl Thompson; sister; Thelma Walker, Sandra Jean Wadley, and a brother John Henry Stephens.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Deborah Stevens, Gail Young, Sharon Thompson Childs, Ella Mae Thompson, John (Minnie) Thompson, III, and Travon Jones; Grandchildren, Franklin (Deandy) Hagins, III, Janeen Thompson, Kimberly Thompson, Robbie Thompson, Tahisia Williams, Anthony Johnson, Quinton Johnson, Stephen (Tiffany) Holley, Johnesha Thompson; 18 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren; Sister Dr. Diane McNeely; brother, John McNeely; In-law's, Viola Prescott, Lula (Edward) Henderson, Cassie Landers, Eva Harden, Cecil (Vivian) Thompson and Harry Thompson; special niece, Jill Wadley; god-daughter, Lakeshia (Carey) Watkins; dearest friends, Beatrice Lowe and Alethea Bostic, caregiver, Jamie Shingleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
