Sandra Jean McNeely Wadley was born to the late John Arthur McNeely and Evelyn S.
"Pete" McNeely on July 10, 1951. She was the fourth of six children. Sandra joined the Sandhill Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully, earning the nickname "Sarge". Sandra, "Jean" as she was affectionately known by family and friends, received her education
in the Jenkins County School System. She graduated from Burgess Landrum High School in
1970. Sandra's employment history included Thompson Company and Jockey International before moving on to the RiverQuest School in Midville, GA where she was employed for 18 years. From here she became affiliated with the Jenkins County Board of Education as a transportation driver. She enjoyed interacting with the many young people she transported over the years.
On August 12, 2021, Sandra peacefully transitioned to be with the Comforter, our LORD. Sandra was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Thelma Walker and John "Brother" Stephens.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a companion, David Drayton; two daughters, Jill and
Clintondra (Lubenian Powell) Wadley of Millen, GA; step-son, Pershawn Jeff of Millen, GA; three grandchildren, Chetiqua Newton , Inari and Iyana Powell; bonus grands, Shane Dock, Chassity Jeff, Jakob and Jakobi Wadley, and Pershawn Jeff Jr.; one brother, John "Bobo" McNeely of Irvington, NJ; two sisters, Sallie M. Thompson of Millen, GA and Dr. Diane McNeely of Metter, GA.; five sisters-in -law, Nona Grimes, New Jersey, Minnie Hall,
McIntyre, GA, Julia (Milton) Beard, Baxley, GA, Mary Wallace , Millen, GA and Geraldine Hendon, New York; three brothers-in-law, Junior Drayton of Miami, FL, Willie and Vannie Drayton of Millen, GA.; a special great, great, great niece Paisley Lockett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
